The "tender soul" Albano came to Heike at the age of 7. In the years of training from St. Georg level to Grand Prix he was always eager and sensible. His own ambitiousness made him learn the lessons quickly. Always in a good mood and ready to work he usually waits with large, watchful eyes in his box to be able finally to give way to his distinctive urge to move.
One of Albano's typical peculiarities is to discover familiar things once again every day. Fences, trees, and bushes which have been in the same place on the well-known farm for years become new and frightening for him all of a sudden. He usually detects even the smallest change in the familiar surroundings much sooner than the rider.
In tournaments it helps Albano to inspect the arena before the test, not only to loosen him up after transport or sleep but also for his well-being. If he gets an idea of the surroundings it is easier for him to concentrate during the important tests. With the cheeky, young expression of his face with the large eyes he always looks as if he was up to no good but he usually just wants to make an impression on the audience, he really enjoys the tense atmosphere under examination conditions. He loves being at grass in field or paddock just as much as being "pampered" extensively. Whoever does so and feeds him carrots as well will be in his heart for a long time.
Mit 18 Jahren, immer noch topfit und kernig, stellte Heike ihn noch auf der einen oder anderen Show vor, wie etwa auf der Equi-Magic. Jetzt, wo er seit etwa eineinhalb Jahren die Pension genießt, macht er mit seinem langjährigen Boxennachbarn „Caesar“ die Weiden rund um den Amselhof unsicher und beobachtet in aller Ruhe die Fortschritte der Youngster.
