Heike came across "Funghi" in Ulla Salzgeber's stable. The rather delicate gelding with the strong character came from Alexander Moksel and was for sale in the Salzgeber stable. Not only his extended trot but also the pleasure he took in work impressed Heike. She bought him. Only his delicate skin made him a problem-child as for care – he was and is like a magnet to fungal infections. Accordingly, he was called "Funghi" at his "naturalization" already and uses his stage name Ferragamo only for official events. He is the clown in the Kemmer stable – there's scarcely another horse which can match his facial play and his irresistible charm. There was hardly any regress in his development.

Funghi was a reliable second horse for the big tour but after some minor health problems Heike decided to end his show career. Today he's enjoying grazing and light training.
